Trilitech is proud to announce the appointment of Aleksandra Artamonovskaja as its new Head of Arts, effective April 15th. With a dynamic background at the intersection of arts and technology, Aleksandra brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the Trilitech team and wider Tezos ecosystem.
Aleksandra has been deeply involved in blockchain and web3 art as a native user. Drawing from her experience across many verticals of the ecosystem, she will bring a unique perspective to the platform side of the equation, driving innovation and creating new opportunities for artists on the Tezos blockchain.
Statement from Aleksandra Artamonovskaja, Trilitech Head of Arts: “Tezos is home to some of the most prominent artists working with technology and I couldn’t be more honoured to be stepping into the role of Head of Arts. We live in a time when fleeting trends often overshadow enduring quality. I’m excited to amplify and expand the depth and richness of Tezos’ art community and solidify its position at the forefront of the artist-centric narrative in the blockchain space.”
Statement from Sunil Singhvi, Head of Arts and Culture at Trilitech: “Innovation, collaboration and inspiration are the lifeblood of the space, so I am thrilled that we have Aleksandra with her deep knowledge and passion joining the team based here at Trilitech to help support the existing Tezos community and lead the charge as to what comes next. We can’t wait to see what fresh ideas Aleksandra comes up with.”
Aleksandra’s passion for digital art was born from overseeing strategic partnerships at .ART, which powered projects such as Rhizome’s seven on seven in 2017, CADAF’s digital art fair the same year, and Ars Electronica’s digital pavilion in 2020 and 2021.
In 2020, she co-founded Electric Artefacts, a platform and advisory for digital art and blockchain projects, which published the guide to collecting on hic et nunc and released Mike Tyka’s pioneering Portraits of Imaginary People collection on Tezos.
Aleksandra has been actively involved in NFTs for good initiatives, raising money for selected charities and advocating blockchain’s benefits for artists’ sovereignty. She has also been minting her own art since 2020. Her series Web3 People Portraits has recently been exhibited in the digital sector of Paris Photo fair, and early Trash Art at the L’Avant Galerie for #TRASHART: NFT GARBOLOGY, 2022 alongside other prominent artists.
Aleksandra holds a master’s degree in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and has gained extensive experience in both the traditional and onchain art world.
The Tezos ecosystem is a vibrant hub for arts and culture, offering a range of tools and platforms to support creators and collectors alike. Since its beginnings with hic et nunc, Tezos Art has become one of Web3’s most creative communities with an artist-first approach that continues to bring fresh artistic ideas and concepts into the world on a daily basis.
Artists from all over the world have chosen Tezos to take their first steps into a new world of creativity and community with platforms like objkt and fx(hash) helping them find buyers, collectors and fans.
Tezos powered a diverse range of community programs globally, including interactive experiences like the Art Basel Miami Beach fair exhibit where visitors could receive generative NFTs. Immersive festival Proof Of People in London showcased art, fashion, and music, and the Digital Art Mile initiative during Art Basel is currently in the works. Educational endeavours sponsored by Tezos included the https://residency.verticalcrypto.art/, which empowered culture through curation, the Academy by Blind Gallery offering courses in the digital art revolution, and WAC Labs fostering web3 innovation with museum collaboration. Tezos also facilitated exhibitions worldwide, such as Akaswap at the Art Science Museum in Singapore and objkt in Brazil, featuring discussions about blockchain art moderated by curators.
Ongoing partnerships with the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and Serpentine in London’s Hyde Park have resulted in internationally acclaimed cultural institutions embracing Web3 art. Tezos’ work on the Van Gogh Digital Collectibles and Agoria exhibitions at d’Orsay set new standards for how Web3 can be integrated into traditional art space. Last year’s MoMA Postcard Project, powered by Tezos and Feral File, showcased the fusion of art and blockchain technology, whilst Serpentine’s exhibit with Gabriel Massan used Tezos-based technology to create a digital collectible generated via a computer game.
