The rarity levels are distributed randomly through a smart contract that ensures that anyone has a fair chance of winning one of the rarer pieces.
Atelier 09 is a female lead art project. Team members Eselci, Looona Lou (also Co-founder of the Anifam NFT collective), Soniu Peng and developer Shwetal (also Cofounder of TzPing) have created a collaborative effort of 33 artists that contributed to the AO9 NFT drop.

You will be able to mint your AO9 NFTs on the presale if you are on the A-List starting Saturday the 19th and on the official sale starting on the 21th February on the AO9 website.
After that they will be tradeable on objkt.com, https://objkt.com/ and Rarible, https://rarible.com/explore/tezos one of the most popular NFT platforms on Tezos.
After you bought and minted your AO9 NFT, you will see the base AO9 piece in your wallet or on OBJKT and Rarible.
All the traits will remain hidden until the sale has concluded. Only then you will see the traits that your NFT contains and you’ll be able to find out the rarity level of your NFT.
AO9 NFTs will also enable you to claim free NFTs that will be airdropped in the future. So all NFTs will offer an extra incentive to hold on to them.
A percentage of the revenue of the AO9 NFT drop will be donated to different charities. Which charities these will be, will be chosen by the core members, but the community will have their vote on this, too.
The voting rights of NFT holders will continue to play a role in later stages of the project too.
