RSRV, a recently launched hotel ownership marketplace, is using the Tezos blockchain to tokenise its first asset, The St. Regis Aspen Resorts.
RSRV was co-founded by Aspen-based entrepreneur Stephane De Baets and is backed by tZero Group and Science Ventures. Token holders will be able to benefit in two ways, from holding an equity position in the hotel, and from the opportunity to exchange tokens for rooms at the resort. Exchange rates will be fixed allowing holders to benefit from discounts to future room rate increases.
Around 5% of the resort’s equity will be tokenised with a sale taking place in March. Tokens will be tradable in a secondary market on the tZero platform. The Tezos blockchain was chosen as technology partner due to a strong track record as a secure, scalable, and energy efficient blockchain. Shares will utilise Tezos blockchain technology to provide unique informational transparency into the capital structure of the issuer.
