Manchester United And Tezos are to agree a new multi-year sponsorship deal for the club’s training kit according to The Athletic, as the football club looks towards Web 3.0 and The Metaverse.
Today, it was stated in an article by The Athletic that Manchester United and Tezos are to agree on a new multi-year sponsorship agreement for the club’s training kit.
Manchester United are considered to be the 4th most valuable football club in the world.
It would represent Manchester United’s first major incursion into the blockchain space as the club looks to maximize opportunities in Web 3.0, NFT and Metaverse arenas.
The deal would be thought to be worth in excess of £20 million per year.
Tezos has shown exceptional growth in recent months and now averages over 300,000 transactions per day (over 25% of Ethereum transactions) and over 6 million smart contract calls per month.
The Athletic stated:
“United have already shot promotional materials at the club’s training centre ahead of an announcement.”
Both parties are keen to further progress collaboration as Adam Crafton, a reporter at the Athletic stated:
“…discussions involved exploring how the partnership can go beyond training kit and help to shape #mufc’s understanding and progress into the opportunities associated with the “metaverse and Web 3.0″.
