The Tezos Foundation recently announced a notable addition to its Foundation Council, welcoming former French Minister Fleur Pellerin to its ranks. Pellerin expressed her enthusiasm about joining the Tezos Foundation Council, stating, “As I join the Tezos Foundation Council, I am both honoured and excited to contribute to an ecosystem that is at the forefront of blockchain innovation and governance. The announcement was made by the President of the Tezos Foundation Council, highlighting Pellerin’s prior roles as French Minister for SME, Innovation and the Digital Economy, and detailing her contributions to the tech and entrepreneurial economy since her departure from government. Pellerin attended her first council meeting on March 14, signaling the start of her active involvement in the foundation.
In addition to welcoming Pellerin, the Tezos Foundation also expressed gratitude to Anil Madhavapeddy and Alice Lloyd George for their years of service on the council. Both members are stepping down due to new professional commitments. Madhavapeddy praised the Tezos blockchain for its sustainable governance model and forkless upgrades, noting, “Tezos stands out as the one blockchain with a sustainable governance model built into its core.” Lloyd George also reflected on her tenure, highlighting Tezos’s unique governance chain and her excitement to continue supporting the ecosystem.
The Tezos Foundation, a Swiss foundation supervised by the Swiss Federal Foundation Supervisory Authority, is dedicated to promoting the Tezos protocol through grants and other capital deployment mechanisms. The Foundation Council is responsible for managing and administering the foundation’s assets and defining its strategic direction.
