ClimaCoins
ClimaCoins are registered on the Tezos blockchain and can be earned in a mobile game by Climapower.
The game is developed to promote conscious action and sustainable management in Switzerland.
Any Swiss citizen can download the game on their mobile phone and play to earn ClimaCoins from the 1st of October till the 31st of October.
The goal in the game is to plant virtual trees. For every 100 trees users plant, they will receive a ClimaCoin, directly in their Ecoo wallet.
The coins can be used in affiliated branches of several companies, for example Reformhaus.
Reformhaus is a retail store, specialized in organic and vegetarian products.
After the first store opened in Berlin in 1887, the brand expanded to Austria and Switzerland and reached a revenue of over 600 million Euro last reported.
In 16 Swiss Reformhaus stores, ClimaCoins can be used to purchase “Pink Power Drinks” in the month of October.
35,000 ClimaCoins will be distributed through the game with a total value of 35,000 Swiss Francs.
At the moment of writing, on the third day that the game has been available 1,788 players have planted 598,323 virtual trees.
A total of 1788 players in our Climapower community have already planted 598323 virtual trees. It’s simple: the more involved all of us are in the game, the more real projects we can implement to fight climate change.
Ecoo
The Ecoo application allows organizations to create conditional tokens that can be tailored to specific user needs.
The Ecoo App has already been used by two Swiss cities to distribute Covid relief funds. Also Ecoo won 3 awards in the “Best of Swiss Apps Awards”.
Ecoo allows users to create tokens that can be distributed and can subsequently only be used at specific events, businesses, or partners.
A wide variety of use-cases can be catered this way:
– Tourism: guests can pay with «Tourism Coins» at selected shops, railways, and businesses.
– Events or festivals, where visitors pay with coins, while the partners, e.g. a catering stand, collect the event currency via the app.
– Companies that want to give their employees meal vouchers not only for the canteen, but also for the nearby bakery or the pop-up restaurant on the corner.
– Health insurances that credit the insured with “Health Points” that can be redeemed at selected partners. This simplifies the organization of partnerships in the health sector, for example in the area of health promotion.
